The Auburn soccer team was recognized by the NSCAA for its excellence in the classroom, earning a NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 academic year. This is the second straight season and the eighth time overall that the program has been recognized.
To be recognized, the team must have a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Auburn's team GPA was 3.12.
Auburn finished the season 13-11-1, 7-6-0 SEC and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Second Round for the second straight season and the sixth season overall, all under the direction of head coach Karen Hoppa. The program also appeared in the SEC Tournament championship match for the second straight season and the fifth time overall, four of which have come under Hoppa's guidance.
