AUBURN, Ala. -
The Auburn soccer team will try to enhance its post-season resume this week, beginning on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30pm CT when it faces Tennessee in the opening round of the 2008 Southeastern Conference Soccer Tournament at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Ala. Auburn enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed after going 7-3-1 in conference play (11-7-2 overall) and winning a share of its' sixth SEC West Division Crown.
The No. 3 seeding is the highest for Auburn since earning the No. 2 seed in 2004. Auburn, which is looking for its' first SEC Tournament win since the semifinals of the 2005 tournament, is 0-2 all-time against Tennessee in league tournament action, but did pick up a key, 2-1, double-overtime win over UT on Sunday, Oct. 26 in Auburn.
Auburn is in the SEC Tournament for the eighth consecutive season and the 13th time overall, but it is still in search of its' first tournament championship, having advanced to the finals in 2001 and 2005.
