Amy Howard Named First Team Academic All-District

Amy Howard has been voted to the Capital One Academic All-District (4) Team, it was announced by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America. She will now be placed on the national ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors. Howard, a senior goalkeeper from Mandeville, La., carries a 3.65 GPA in elementary education. Auburn's everyday netminder, she has recorded 103 saves through 21 games and owns a 1.11 goals against average, both of which are among the SEC leaders. Her 1,938 minutes played this year are also among the top ten nationally. Howard became Auburn's all-time career saves leader during the SEC Tournament opening match against Tennessee, surpassing Allison Whitworth for the school record. With 360 career saves, she is currently fourth in SEC history and she needs eight more to tie Taryn Holland of Mississippi State (2006-09) for third.
