AUBURN -- Auburn junior midfielder Sara Power has been named the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week as announced Monday by the league office for her two-goal performance against Alabama.

Against the Crimson Tide Friday night, the Annandale, Va., native scored two goals in the Tigers 3-1 win over Alabama, including the game-winner. Power's goals came just over five minutes apart, as she got Auburn on the board quickly with two goals in the first 10:39 of the game.

"Sara came out strong for us and really got the team in the right mind set with her two quick goals," head coach Karen Hoppa said. "She had sat out of practice the day before because she was so sick, so for her to come up with a performance like that is even more impressive."

Power finished the regular season with four goals and two assists including two game-winning goals. Her first game-winning goal came against Ole Miss in the 2-1 overtime win earlier this season.

Auburn will take on the Rebels of Ole Miss in the first round of the SEC Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 4 at noon at the AU Soccer Complex. For more information on tickets, please call or 1-800-AUB-1957 or on the web at www.secsports.com.
