Scouting the Lady Razorbacks...
Arkansas enters the weekend with a 6-7-2 record overall and 2-4-0 in conference play. The Lady Razorbacks have suffered three consecutive conference losses to Ole Miss (1-4), Tennessee (0-4) and Georgia (2-7). Julie Williford leads all Arkansas scorers with 12 goals on the year and three assists. Carrie Dillsaver has played the majority of minutes in goal for the Lady Razorbacks with a 6-6-2 record and a 1.90 goals against average in 14 games. Lindsay Haywood has played the last 113:17 for the team, however, giving up seven goals. Head coach Alan Kirkup is in his fourth season with the Lady Backs holding a 33-56-6 record.
Scouting the Tigers...
With a 9-5-1 overall record and a 2-4-0 SEC mark, the LSU Tigers will enter this weekend's play at Alabama Friday night. Auburn will then meet up with the Tigers at 2 p.m. on Sunday for Auburn's Senior Day. LSU had a solid 4-1 win over Georgia last Friday night, but fell 0-3 to Tennessee on Sunday. The Tigers have a double threat offensively as they are led by Artie Brown and Stacy Bishop who have scored 11 and 10 goals respectively. In goal, Robyn DesOrmeaux returns for LSU with a 1.25 goals against average in 2003 and has earned three shutouts. LSU is led by George Fotopoulos, who is in his fourth season holding a 43-24-7 record.
Auburn had a big weekend defeating Mississippi State 1-0 and Ole Miss 2-1 on the road, which improved the team's record to 10-2-3 overall and 3-1-2 in conference play. Sarah Steinmann was awarded for her two game-winning goals as she was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week. Steinmann now has 10 goals on the year, six of which are game-winners. Freshman Ronda Brooks is now second on the team with six goals and an assist on the season. Sunday, Auburn will honor seniors Sandy Carnes, Kellie Evans, Erin Hinson, Carly Thomas and Lindsey Wadkins.
Auburn plays its final regular season contest Friday, Oct. 31 in Tuscaloosa as the Tigers travel to Alabama for a 7 p.m. game. Auburn will then wait for word on its seeding for the SEC Tournament to be held Nov. 6-9 in Orange Beach, Ala.
