AUBURN - Auburn junior forward Sarah Steinmann has been named the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player for the second time this season as she scored game-winning goals against both Mississippi State and Ole Miss.

"Sarah was clutch in both games for us," Auburn head coach Karen Hoppa said. "Her goal against Ole Miss where she beat three defenders by herself gave us a key victory in Oxford. She has come up big for us all year."

Steinmann helped lift Auburn to a tie for the lead in the SEC West, defeating Mississippi State 1-0 and Ole Miss 2-1, both on the road. The wins were the first for Auburn under the direction of Hoppa in the state of Mississippi.

With her two game-winning goals on the weekend, Steinmann took over the top position for career game-winning goals in school history with 10. In the 2003 season, Steinmann has scored six game-deciding goals.

Steinmann and the Tigers will be back in action Friday, Oct. 24 as they host Arkansas at 7 p.m. at the AU Soccer Complex. Auburn will then host LSU Sunday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. in the Tigers' final home contest of the season.
