Power Named the SEC Soccer Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Auburn sophomore soccer player Sara Power was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week here Monday afternoon for her performance in the Tigers’ two wins on the weekend against Mississippi State and Ole Miss as announced by the league office.

Power scored both goals in the 2-0 Auburn win over Mississippi State and also scored the game-winning goal against Ole Miss and added an assist in the 3-1 victory.
With the three goals and one assist on the weekend, Power, a Falls Church, Va., native, helped move her team to first place in the SEC Western division and in a tie for first in the overall conference standings.
“Sara really stepped up her play this weekend for us,” head coach Karen Richter said. “Her offensive production against Ole Miss and Mississippi State was phenomenal. She really took our offense to the next level and led us to the No. 1 position in the SEC.”
Power is currently second on the team in scoring and is first overall in SEC games for the Tigers with three goals and an assist.
