AUBURN -- The Auburn soccer team began preparation for the 2004 season here Tuesday as practice commenced for the first time this year as they prepare for the season-opening match with Furman on Aug. 27 at home.

The Tigers will head to Orange Beach, Ala., for preseason practice Wednesday afternoon and will remain until Monday for training. The SEC Tournament, to be held Nov. 4-7, will take place at Orange Beach as well again in 2004.

After an unprecedented third consecutive SEC Western Division title in 2003, Auburn will look to improve upon its 14-4-3 record from last season. The Tigers also earned their second-straight appearance in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2003.

This season, Auburn welcomes seven incoming freshmen to the team and two additional transfers to the roster. The Tigers also return seniors Chrissy Culver, three-time All-American Megan Rivera, honorable mention All-American and 2002 SEC Player of the Year Sarah Steinmann and Jenn Walters.
