Having advanced to the NCAA Tournament in six of the past seven seasons, the Auburn soccer team has put together another challenging schedule for the 2008 season as it will play 10 of 20 matches against teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Auburn will play five of nine non-conference matches against tournament participants while also going through the grinding SEC schedule, which produced six tournament teams a year ago, including Auburn.

Auburn will play 11 matches at the Auburn Soccer Complex and nine on the road, starting the season at home against Grambling State on Friday, Aug. 22, and finishing with rival Alabama on Friday, Oct. 31. In between Auburn will play host to UAB on Sunday, Aug. 24, the Auburn Soccer Classic on Sept. 12 and 14, which will bring NCAA Tournament finalist Florida State and Marquette to town, and Samford on Friday, Sept. 19.

In conference action, Auburn will play host to Ole Miss (Oct. 3), Mississippi State (Oct. 5), and NCAA tournament teams Florida (Oct. 17), South Carolina (Oct. 19) and Tennessee (Oct. 26) before closing out the season against Alabama.

In non-conference action, Auburn will play at NCAA Tournament team Missouri on Aug. 29 and will face Round of 16 teams Virginia and Stanford at a tournament at the University of Georgia (Sept. 5 & 7). It will also travel to Kansas (Aug. 31), which Auburn played to a 1-1 draw in Hawaii last fall.

In SEC play, Auburn will head to Kentucky (Sept. 26), Vanderbilt (Sept. 28), LSU (Oct. 10), Arkansas (Oct. 12) and Georgia (Oct. 23).

Auburn finished the 2007 season 10-8-2 and 12 of its 2008 opponents tallied 10-win seasons-or-better.
