Auburn Soccer Adds Another to Incoming Class

March 11, 2002

AUBURN- Laura Snell, a goalkeeper from Columbia S.C., signed a National Letter of Intent to play soccer for Auburn University beginning in the fall of 2002, it was announced by head coach Karen Richter on Monday.

Snell, the 2001 Olympic Development Program State Select Team goalkeeper, played her high school soccer for Spring Valley and played club soccer for the Carolina FC 83 Navy U-18 Premiere team. She has also played internationally for the U-17 Great Lakes Soccer Club in the 2001 Limsford and Dana Cups.

“Laura will give us great depth in the goalkeeper position,” Richter said. “She has good size and athletic ability and we are excited to have her join our recruiting class.”

Snell will join an Auburn program that won the Southeastern Conference Western Division title last season and made its first trip to the NCAA Tournament.
