AUBURN - Awards for the Auburn soccer team continue to pour in as four players from the 2003 team were awarded with postseason honors including Ronda Brooks, Sandy Carnes, Megan Rivera and Sarah Steinmann.

Brooks, a freshman from Marietta, Ga., was named to the All-Freshman Southeast Region team by Soccer Buzz for her efforts as a midfielder during the season. Brooks, a true defender, moved positions for the Tigers in 2003 and found impressive production with seven goals and an assist on the year.

Carnes, who played her final season for the Tigers in 2003, was awarded for her outstanding defensive play with First Team All-Southeast Region honors from the NSCAA, was named as an Honorable Mention All-American by Soccer Buzz and was named to the All-Southeast second team by Soccer Buzz.

Rivera, a native of Miami, Fla., picked up the third All-America honor of her three-year career as she was named as a Soccer Buzz third team All-American. The junior goalkeeper was also named to the Soccer Buzz All-Southeast first team and was named to the NSCAA/adidas second team in 2003.

Steinmann again led the Tigers in scoring in 2003 with 12 goals, and was rewarded for it as she was named to the Second Team All-Southeast Region by both Soccer Buzz and the NSCAA.

"We are so excited for Ronda, Sandy, Megan and Sarah as they have been rewarded for their hard work and dedication that has continued to elevate our program," head coach Karen Hoppa said. "The team's success in 2003 is due in large part to the consistent performance of these four players."
