AUBURN, Ala. - Ana Cate headed in the only goal of Auburn's spring exhibition soccer match against UAB and Mary Coffed and Julie King split time in net in place of the injured Amy Howard and Caitlin Torie to post a 1-0 shutout on Friday night at the Auburn Soccer Complex.

Heather Havron started the scoring play with a throw-in to Katy Frierson. Frierson, who was on the right flank, sent a service towards the back post that Cate was able to head in for the game-winner. Cate had been in the midfield at the start of the play but raced in to bury the shot.

The Auburn defense was led by Havron and Mary Nicholson in front of Coffed and King. The defense did not allow many scoring chances on goal, allowing the two field players to split the shutout in net.

The team will not play any exhibition matches this week before returning to the field in Orlando, Fla. Auburn will play the Mexican National Team on Friday, April 9 and then UCF on Saturday, April 10. Both matches are at 7pm ET.
