The Auburn soccer team remained perfect in its spring exhibition season as it defeated West Florida, 2-0, on Sunday at the Auburn Soccer Complex. Katy Frierson and Tasha Prentice both scored goals in the exhibition match.
Frierson converted a penalty kick with 19:24 left in the first half to give Auburn the 1-0 lead. Prentice and Tori Ball worked a give-and-go to set Ball up on the top of the 18, where she drew a foul which warranted a penalty kick.
With 37:16 left in the second half, Julie King found a checking Ball who looked up and found Prentice on the back of the six. Prentice then headed it back into the opposite side of the net for the 2-0 advantage.
Chandler Hillen and Amy Howard split time in net for Auburn.
Auburn returns to the field on Wednesday night when it plays host to the Atlanta Beat of the WPS at 6pm at the Auburn Soccer Complex.
