Tigers Battle Back, But Fall 2-1 To Clemson In Opener

On a humid night in Clemson, S.C., the Auburn University soccer team found themselves in a 2-0 hole early in the second half Friday night. The team was able to cut the score in half with just under 30 minutes to play off a goal by junior Logan Beal, but it wouldn't be enough as the Tigers fell, 2-1, in its 2014 season opener.

Season-Opening Weekend Takes Tigers To Clemson and Furman

The 2014 season opens for the Auburn University soccer team this weekend as the team will travel to Clemson and Furman to open its campaign in hopes of a 14th-straight appearance in the Southeastern Conference tournament and hopeful NCAA Tournament appearance.

Goalkeeper Corps Strong For Tigers

Goalkeepers are like quarterbacks. They're the eyes and ears of what their teammates can't see and can manage a game from their position. Ultimately, they're the last line of defense from opponents shot attempts and are crucial to a soccer team's performance. Essentially, the buck stops with the keepers on the soccer field and those characteristics can be attributed to all three of Auburn's goalkeepers this season.

Auburn Drops 3-0 Decision In Exhibition Play With Georgia

The Auburn University soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to SEC-rival Georgia Saturday night in its only exhibition game of the 2014 season. Both teams battled to a scoreless draw at halftime, but it was Georgia, which was able to find the back of the net three times in the second half to secure the three goal victory.

Tigers Open 2014 With Exhibition Against Rival Georgia

The unofficial opener of the 2014 Auburn soccer season begins tomorrow when the Tigers face conference rival Georgia in a preseason exhibition at 6 p.m. CST at the UGA Soccer Stadium in Athens, Ga. Admission to the match is free to the public.
