Gymnastics Set for Final Intra-Squad

AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn gymnastics team, hard at work in preparation for the upcoming season, will hold their final intra-squad scrimmage on Thurs., Dec. 17 in the team's training center, the McWhorter Center at 11:45 a.m.

 

The final intra-squad will be the third time this preseason that the Tigers will be scored by a judge, and will feature Auburn's top-six competitors in each event. In previous intra-squads, Auburn has hit 46-of-49 routines with eight competitors participating in the first meet, followed by seven in the most recent intra-squad on Nov. 24.

 

The intra-squad will be the team's first formal workout since Dec. 7 due to final exams over the past week on the Auburn campus. The squad will hold its annual Christmas Party one day prior to the intra-squad on Wed., Dec. 16.

 

The team has been tabbed the No. 14 team in the nation according GymInfo, the highest pre-season ranking in school history. Auburn opens up the 2010 season on Jan. 8, hosting No. 3 Alabama at 7 p.m. from Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum.
