    2012 Preseason Poll

AUBURN – Auburn gymnastics is ranked 17th in the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) 2012 pre-season poll released on Thursday.

“The NACGC/W 2012 Pre-Season Poll has us ranked higher than we finished last year and I think that says the coaches around the country believe we are better than we were last year,” head coach Jeff Graba said. “I am very excited about this vote of confidence and I fully expect our team to be able to achieve or surpass this ranking in the 2012 season.”

Auburn, which finished the 2011 season ranked 19th, is one of seven SEC programs ranked in the top 25. Additionally, non-conference opponent Ohio State is ranked 17th to give the Tigers eight ranked opponents and three more receiving votes (Southern Utah, West Virginia and BYU).

Auburn opens the season on January 6 at the Cancun Classic in Cancun, Mexico when they take on Arizona, Iowa, Arkansas, LSU and San Jose State. The Tigers open their home schedule on January 20 against Georgia in Auburn Arena.
