Auburn, Ala. - The Auburn Gymnastics team will hold its annual Thanksgiving intra-squad meet on Nov. 20, in the McWhorter Center beginning at 11:45. The Tigers will compete head-to-head to showcase their new routines and demonstrate their progress thus far.
"The team is further along this year than any other year," said Auburn head coach Jeff Thompson. "We are excited to have our fans out to see our progress. It will be a fun environment and with all the new choreography and energy the ladies have, the fans will not be disappointed."
Auburn will employ an official judge to score the meet in order to see how the gymnasts' routines are scoring at this point.
"With less than eight weeks left before the season, having an official there will give each gymnast a feel for what she needs to work on in the time remaining until Jan.12," Thompson said.
Auburn will host a second intra-squad meet on Dec. 15, before the team leaves for winter break. The Tigers open their regular season on the road in Lexington on Jan. 12, to face the Kentucky Wildcats. Home action starts on Jan. 18, when the Tigers take on the Crimson Tide for their annual "Pink Meet".
