MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Competing among 450 of the nation’s top gymnasts, Auburn gymnastics signees Mary Jane Rott and Kullen Hlawek both shined at last week’s Junior Olympics Championships.

“I’m absolutely excited about their performances,” Auburn gymnastics head coach Jeff Graba said. “I’m excited about the fact that we have two national champions coming into the program for next season. It speaks volumes about how prepared they are to enter college gymnastics and it speaks to how bright their futures are and the future of our program.”

Hlawek won the individual title on floor exercise and was named the national champion for the apparatus. Rott was crowned the national champion on balance beam, while also placing third in floor exercise.

Both gymnasts finished in the top 30 of the all-around competition with Rott coming in 16th and Hlawek placing 26th. The competition was the third-straight JO National meet for the duo.
