AUBURN – Auburn gymnastics signees Kullen Hlawek and Mary Jane Rott both advanced to the 2013 USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic National Championships with their performances over the weekend.

“We are very excited that both Kullen and Mary Jane were able to not only qualify on to the National Championship meet but also shine in the Regional Qualifiers,” Auburn head coach Jeff Graba said. “It’s a great sign for the future of our team. We are counting on both girls to come in and be contributors for us next year as freshman and we believe they have the talent do that.”

Rott, a native of Oakdale, Minnesota, qualified for her third-consecutive JO National Championship. She is making her fifth career-trip to the meet. She won her fourth-career all-around championship at her regional competition.

Additionally, she added titles on vault, balance beam and floor exercise.

Fulshear, Texas-native Hlawek also qualified for her third-straight JO National meet. She finished seventh in the All-around, while also placing second overall on balance beam and fourth in the floor exercise.
