AUBURN - After posting the second-highest regional score in program history on Saturday night, Auburn gymnastics has finished the 2012 season ranked 15th nationally.

"We had the 12th highest score in the country on Saturday night," Auburn coach Jeff Graba said. "We were also one of only 13 teams to break a 196. Regionals is typically the most accurate judging of the year, so needless to say, I am very proud of this team."

The Tigers made the push to 15th based on the strong score of 196.100. That score was the 12th best regional score in the country and would have been good enough to advance Auburn to the national championship meet in two other regionals.

15th is the highest final rank for Auburn in nine years. It's the best end-of-season finish since the Tigers finished 2003 ranked No. 12 and it is the second-highest mark since a fifth-place finish in 1993, a span of 19 years.

Auburn gymnasts Bri Guy and Kylie Shields will compete as individuals at the NCAA Championships in Duluth, Ga. on Sunday, April 22. For the latest on Auburn Gymnastics, follow @AUGymnatics on Twitter or at www.Facebook.com/AUGymnastics.
