BIRMINGHAM – Auburn gymnast Bri Guy was named to the All-SEC second team as announced by the Southeastern Conference office on Monday.

“I’m excited for Bri because she really deserves it,” Auburn head coach Jeff Graba said. “This is great recognition for Bri and great recognition for a quality freshman class. It just shows that the future is bright for Auburn gymnastics. Bri has done such a great job for us this year and I’m glad she is being recognized for that.”

Guy is the first Auburn gymnast to receive an All-SEC mention since Lindsay Puckett in 2009. She was the first Auburn gymnast to be named SEC Freshman of the Week since Allyson Sandusky in 2009 when she received the weekly award on February 21.

The freshman set a season high with an all-around score of 39.550 against Florida earlier this season. Guy has recorded the five highest floor routine scores for Auburn this season. She posted a score of 9.9 on floor at the SEC Championship on March 24.

Guy and the rest of the Auburn gymnastics program are in action next on April 7 when it hosts the NCAA Auburn Regional in Auburn Arena at 6 p.m. CT. Tickets are available by calling 855-AUB-2010 or by visiting www.AUBTIX.com. The first 200 Auburn students to show their Ignited card at the Auburn Arena ticket office window on April 7 will receive free admission to the meet.
