BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Auburn gymnasts Caitlin Atkinson, Megan Walker and Brittany Webster were each named All-SEC performers on Monday, while freshman MJ Rott was named to the SEC All-Freshman team.

The awards come as a result of the four gymnasts performances at the 2014 SEC Gymnastics Championship on Saturday.

Auburn won the afternoon session for the second-straight year. The Tigers placed fifth overall and equaled the best finish for the program since 1993.

“I’m very proud of these four and I’m proud of the whole team,” Auburn head coach Jeff Graba said. “It’s a tough season and a tough competition. I thought everyone did a great job of staying focused and competing. It’s a great reward for all four of them and it shows we are becoming more and more competitive in the SEC.”

The award is the second for Atkinson and the first for Walker and Webster.

Atkinson scored 9.875 on vault and 9.85 on balance beam to earn All-SEC honors on both events. Walker was named All-SEC on both uneven bars and balance beam with scores of 9.85 and 9.9, respectively. Webster’s 9.800 on floor led the Tigers and also earned her an all-conference mention.

Rott was named to the all-freshman team on vault and in the all-around competition. The Minnesota native competed all-around for just the second time in her career and set a new career high total with a 39.475.
