TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- No. 11 Auburn gymnastics closes out the 2014 regular season on Friday at 7:30 p.m. on the road against No. 4 Alabama in Coleman Coliseum.

The meet is the second meeting of the season between Auburn and the Crimson Tide. The Tigers posted a season best and the second-highest score in program history with a 197.100 in the first meet on February 15.

The 2014 seasons marks the first time that two dual meets have been competed between the two programs in one season since 2009. Auburn and Alabama have met 117 times in a series that dates back to 1975.

Auburn is ranked 11th nationally in RQS this week with a total of 196.515. Alabama stands fourth at 197.320, thanks to a program record score of 198.250 last week in a win over Stanford.

The Tigers received a boost in this week’s RQS with their second 197 or higher of the season in the win over Missouri. Auburn is eighth nationally on vault, 15th on bars, 13th on beam and 9th on floor. MJ Rott is 14th nationally on vault (9.915). Megan Walker is 15th on beam (9.885). Caitlin Atkinson is 20th on bars (9.880), 18th on floor (9.895), while she also stands eighth in all-around (39.470).

Against Missouri, Auburn posted its second score of 197 or higher in 2014. That marks the first time an Auburn team has accomplished the feat. The Tigers have now scored 197 or higher three times in the last 15 meets, a plateau that had only been reached once in the program’s previous 38 years of competition. Eight of the top 10 scores in program history have now be achieved under head coach Jeff Graba.

Additionally, Graba’s teams since 2012 have recorded three of the top four scores in the Auburn record book.
