No. 11 Auburn gymnastics will finish its regular season home schedule Friday when it faces Missouri in Auburn Arena at 7 p.m. CT.
“They’re going to be a really good team in the future,” head coach Jeff Graba said of Missouri. “Right now it seems like they’ve got it figured out. They’re climbing in the rankings pretty quickly. I don’t think our team can be distracted by other things, we’re going to need to be focused. They’re an SEC opponent and everybody in the SEC is pretty tough.”
Auburn will honor its lone senior, Nikki Galluzo, with a special ceremony prior to the meet. The first 1,400 fans in attendance will receive a glow bracelet and anyone shorter than the cutout of coach Graba will receive free admission.
Fans can purchase tickets by calling 855-AUB-2010 or at www.AUBTIX.com.
Auburn currently stands 11th nationally with a regional qualifying score of 196.335. The team ranks eighth nationally on vault, 16th on bars, 23rd on beam and 11th on floor. Any total score higher than 195.950 would provide a boost for the Tigers in the rankings.
Auburn faced Missouri twice last year, winning both meets. The first in Columbia, Mo., was won by Auburn 196.725-194.575. The second meeting was at the SEC Championships where Auburn finished fifth with a score of 196.550 and Missouri finished seventh with a total of 195.525.
