AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn gymnastics team is at No. 16 in this week’s RoadtoNationals.com Regional Qualifying Score standings. The squad has a RQS of 196.340.
“We have one more meet in the regular season and we need to let it all hang out there in competition,” head coach Jeff Graba said. “We are looking forward to competing in Huntsville at this year’s Elevate Meet Friday and are ready to go against Alabama on a podium.”
RQS is determined by the team total average with its home meets and three highest away meets, as well as dropping the team’s highest score. The same ranking goes for individuals with their high score dropped and at least three away scores counted.
Oklahoma is first at 197.980, while LSU moved up to No. 2 at 197.715. UCLA, Utah, and Florida round out the Top 5. All Southeastern Conference schools are in the Top 25 – Alabama (No. 6), Kentucky (No. 8), Arkansas (No. 10), Georgia (No. 17), Missouri (No. 19).
Auburn continued to climb in the rankings on vault and moved up to No. 13 with a 49.130 RQS. The Tigers are tied for 14th on beam (49.135), tied for 19th on bars (49.125), and tied for 22nd on floor (49.155).
Auburn caps the regular season at the annual Elevate the Stage meet, facing off with Alabama in a non-conference showdown. The podium meet will be held in Huntsville, Ala., at the Von Braun Center and will kick off at 7 p.m. CT.
