Auburn, Ala. -
No. 15 Auburn gymnastics team will travel to Baton Rouge, La., to take on LSU and West Virginia in a tri-meet Friday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m., CT, in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
"This weekend is a little chance for revenge for us," said Auburn head coach Jeff Thompson. "Both of those teams were at the West Virginia site for Regionals last year. West Virginia beat us and LSU advanced to the National Championships. Of course, we have a totally different team now than we did then."
Auburn meets with the LSU Tigers and Mountaineers coming off a win at N.C. State. The Tigers posted their highest score of the season, 195.950, to defeat host N.C. State, George Washington and Texas Women's University.
"We had a great road trip on Sunday," Thompson said. "We are seeing not only physical improvement in how their routines look, but also improvement in our mental game."
The Tigers return to action at Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum Feb. 15, to take on the Georgia Gym Dogs at 7 p.m. CT. Admission for adults is $5 and $2 for children. Admission is free for students with a valid ID. Live stats for all home meets are available at www.auburntigers.com.
