AUBURN - As the No. 22 Auburn gymnastics team (1-3, 1-2 SEC) prepares for this Friday's meet against Kentucky (1-3, 0-3 SEC), two main areas of focus during practice are uneven bars and floor exercise.
"We've done quite a few more floor routines than we have in the past," head coach Jeff Graba said. "On Monday and Tuesday, we tried to push the fatigue issue a little bit. We also did some more pressure sets on bars because we didn't handle pressure real well there."
Auburn has used several different lineups in the past few weeks, and against Kentucky it will be no different. Junior Kylie Shields will enter the rotation going No.6 on vault. Senior Katie Hurley will compete on vault in an exhibition routine.
"Kylie has slowly been coming around trying to do vault for us," Graba said. "She has shown that she can do the full circuit, so we are going to try and insert her into the lineup. Katie is trying to get floor for us. We are hoping she will be ready next week at Alabama. We felt like we needed to back her off of vault if Kylie was going in. With these two coming back from injury, it's just a matter of not doing too much too quickly."
The Tigers' projected lineups for the Kentucky meet are:
Vault: Petrina Yokay, Allyson Sandusky, Lauren Brzostowski, Justine Foster, Toi Garcia and Kylie Shields
Uneven Bars: Toi Garcia
, Kendall Swartz
, Leah Vining

Balance Beam: Lauren Brzostowski, Petrina Yokay, Abbey Habicht, Kylie Shields, Allyson Sandusky and Rachel Inniss
