Auburn Maintains Postition Among Nation's Best

AUBURN - For the fourth-consecutive week, the Auburn gymnastics team has maintained its position among the nation's best according to GymInfo's latest rankings released on Feb. 2. The Tigers moved up one spot to No. 5 after beating LSU 196.575-195.300 on Jan. 30. Individually, Auburn has gymnasts ranked among the top 20 on each event and in the all-around. Auburn is averaging a 196.225 through five meets to earn a No. 5 ranking and is the third-highest ranked team in the Southeastern Conference. One spot ahead of the Tigers and tied for third is Georgia and Arkansas with a 196.320 average. Utah (196.700) is the top-ranked team, followed by UCLA (196.480). All-Around competitors A.J. Mills and Lindsey Puckett both own top-10 rankings at fourth and ninth, respectively. The Tigers averages on floor exercise, balance beam and uneven bars earn a spot in the top 10. A 49.175 average on floor puts Auburn third behind SEC foes Arkansas and Florida. A trio of Tigers make the top-20 cut, with Rachel Inniss at seventh, Puckett is 10th and Mills is ranked 16th. On beam, the Tigers moved up two spots to No. 4, sporting a 49.020. Mills checks in as the only top-10 beam worker for Auburn at No. 9. A 48.995 mark on bars keeps Auburn locked down at eighth. Mills is ranked 22nd. Auburn's vault is just outside of the top 10, ranked 12th and averaging 49.035. Puckett is listed as the nation's No. 5 vaulter.
