FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. --
The 12th-ranked Auburn gymnastics team makes the second of three consecutive road trips on Friday when it visits No. 10 Arkansas in Barnhill Arena at 7 p.m.
"We are glad that the weather warmed up and we are able to travel on Thursday," Auburn gymnastics coach Jeff Graba said. "I always like getting on the road and we are excited to compete again this Friday against another talented team in Arkansas."
The Tigers competed on the road for the first time in 2014 last Saturday at then No. 2 LSU. The meet was originally scheduled for Friday night, but inclement weather forced the postponement to the following afternoon.
Auburn posted a season high and program road meet record score of 196.825 against LSU. It marked the second straight year that Auburn had recorded a record scoring total against the other Tigers. In 2013, Auburn scored a program record 197.175 in a win over LSU in Auburn Arena.
One of the highlights of last weekend's meet was freshman MJ Rott's performance. The Minnesota rookie scored a nearly perfect 9.975 on vault, tying the Auburn record set by Julie Dwyer in 2008. For her efforts she was named SEC Freshman of the Week.
Auburn has now had a freshman earn the SEC honor in three consecutive seasons, joining Bri Guy (2012) and Cailtin Atkinson (2013).
