Gymnastics' Freshman Class Ranked 10th Nationally
Jan. 10, 2013
AUBURN – Auburn’s 2013 four person freshman class has been ranked as the 10th nationally by respected gymnastics site CollegeGymFans.com.
“The 10th place ranking for our recruiting class is simply a recognition that we are bringing in very talented athletes to the program,” Auburn head coach Jeff Graba said. “Not only does this mean that we currently have a deeper and more talented team than in the past, but it also bodes well for the future.”
This year’s rank marks two-straight years the Tigers have been ranked 10th nationally. Last season, Auburn’s class of Lexus Demers, Bri Guy, Caryn Kadous, Kelsey Thomasson, Megan Walker and Brittany Webster was also ranked No. 10.
The recruiting classes were evaluated based on their pre-college performances in major meets, their skill level, and the execution quality of the skills they perform, culled from the available competition and training videos.
The Tigers are one of five SEC programs ranked in the top 10.
No. 13 Auburn opens its home schedule on Friday against No. 25 Kentucky. The meet is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Auburn Arena.
