DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Three former Auburn women's golfers are in position to make the cut at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Maria Martinez is tied for sixth place at 4-under par, while Danielle Downey is tied for 22nd at 1-over. Celeste Troche is at 3-over par and three strokes above the cut line in 42nd place.

"Our girls are hanging in there," Auburn head coach Kim Evans said. "It looks like three of them are in a pretty good position going into the last round before the cut."

The fourth former Auburn player, Diana Ramage, shot an 81 on Friday and dropped into a tie for 125th place at 15-over.

The 90-hole tournament is staged at the LPGA International's Legends and Champions courses. The top-70 players and any ties after Saturday's fourth round will advance to the 18-hole final round on Sunday. The top-15 finishers through five rounds will earn full exemptions on the 2007 LPGA Tour. The next 35 golfers will earn non-exempt status for next year's tour.

An update on the Auburn golfers will be available at www.auburntigers.com after both of the weekend rounds.
