No. 16 Women's Golf Close Out Fall Season At Pac 10/SEC Challenge

PALO ALTO, Calif. - The No. 16 Auburn women's golf team will wrap up the fall season this weekend as the Tigers travel to Palo Alto, Calif., for the inaugural Pac 10/SEC Challenge. The three-day tournament will pit the membership of the Pacific 10 and Southeastern Conferences against each other at the Stanford Golf Course. "This is a great tournament with a very competitive field," said Auburn head coach Kim Evans. "The SEC and the Pac 10 produce some of the best teams in collegiate women's golf and it is a great test to come out here and finish the fall with this kind of competition." Fourteen of the 21 teams in the field are ranked in the NGCA/GolfWorld Top-25 Coaches' Poll with seven ranking in the top 10. Making up the field are No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 LSU, No. 3 Southern California, No. 4 UCLA, No. 7 California, No. 9 Arizona, No. 10 Georgia, No. 11 Vanderbilt, No. 16 Auburn, No. 17 Tennessee, No. 20 Arkansas, No. 21 South Carolina, No. 24 Oregon, No. 25 Florida, Ole Miss, Washington, Stanford, Oregon State, Washington State, Mississippi State and Kentucky. Making up the lineup for the Tigers are senior Cydney Clanton, junior Patricia Sanz and Haley Wilson, sophomore Carlie Yadloczky and freshman Marta Sanz. Clanton, a native of Concord, N.C., currently leads Auburn with a 71.0 stroke average and two top-20 finishes this season. Wilson is right behind her at 73.89, followed by Patricia and Marta Sanz at 74.44 and 74.50, respectively.
"This will be a great week to close out the fall season," said Evans. "We have a good, tough golf course and good weather. We just have to go out now and make some shots and hit some putts." The tournament will be played at the par-71 Stanford Golf Course. It will play at approximately 6,103 yards. Action is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. CT, Friday with tee times off the Nos. 1 and 10 tees. Auburn will be the last group off the No. 1 tee, playing alongside Florida and Southern California. The Tigers' tee times will 11:24 a.m. - 12 p.m. CT.
