What are some of your personal goals or expectations for the spring?
"Well of course I would like to get a win in, an official win. I'd like to play well and hopefully win the SEC Championship. That is a big goal. The ultimate goal is to be the Freshman Player of the Year at the end of the year and play well in regionals and nationals."
On a similar note, what are some of your team goals?
"Everybody's goal right now is to play well. We all want to win and we're all waiting to all play well to win. I think everybody's goal is to work hard so we can be prepared for SECs then for nationals."
Has it been difficult to come in as a freshman and try to prove yourself?
"At first I had added a lot of pressure on myself to do well. Everybody can say that I struggled in the first qualifier, first round. You just have to take the pressure off and play your own game. At first it was a little rocky, but you just have to play your game and hope for the best."
What has been the most difficult adjustment to Auburn?
"Juggling school work and traveling. Having to do work on the road is a lot tougher than I imagined."
What is the best part about playing golf in college as opposed to before?
"I think being on a team because a lot of us come from being an individual and playing in tournaments just as your own. I think being part of a team and having people lift you up when you are down or giving you the extra little confidence when you didn't play well. I think being on a team is definitely one of the positives."
How did you begin playing golf?
"Well my whole family plays golf. We're kind of a little nerd golfing family. It was just inevitable. I have three brothers so I was always with sports or athletics. One day we just picked up golf and stuck with it."
Do you have any pre-tournament rituals?
"We do have little superstitions. Me and another player, Candace Schepperle, we wear two different colored shoes. Lately I wear the orange on the right foot and blue on the left. That has kind of been going good for me for a while. We'll see, maybe if I don't have that great of a round I might switch it up, left shoe be orange. Normally we do the same thing. I eat the same thing every morning before we go and play. I have the same routine when I practice."
What is your favorite food?
"I love steak and baked potatoes. I am a true southern girl."
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
"Spare time? I don't really have much of that. I like watching movies and just getting a group of people and hanging out watching movies or eating dinner. I like to do other sports like tennis or play basketball."
What are some of your other hobbies?
"Since I have three brothers I have grown up playing football and basketball. I play tennis some. I think other sports in general are what I do outside of golf."
