AUBURN, Ala. - Former Auburn golfer Cydney Clanton of Concord, N.C., earned her 2014 LPGA Tour card today after finishing No.5 on the Symetra Tour money list in the 2013 Volvik Race for the Card.

"It feels really good," said Clanton. "It's been a good year, there have been ups-and-downs but not to have to go back to Q-School is a blessing."

Clanton recorded four top-10 finishes this season, including her first career win at the Four Winds Invitational. She also had a tie for third at the VisitMesa.com Getaway Classic, and ties for ninth at the Northeast Delta Dental International and Volvik Championships.

A 2011 Auburn graduate, Clanton just finished her second full professional season. After playing on the Symetra Tour for two seasons, Clanton feels that the experience she has gained will help her in the 2014 season.

"I think having a year under my belt, and being able to play in a few tournaments this year, as well as on the Symetra Tour, will be beneficial to me. But, you still have to go out there and play really good golf."

Clanton tied for 13th at the season-ending Symetra Tour Championship with rounds of 70-71-70-75--286. The 2014 LPGA Tour season begins Jan. 20-26 in the Bahamas with the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic at the Ocean Club Golf Course at Atlantis.
