AUBURN, Ala. - Former Auburn golfers Patricia Sanz and Carlie Yadloczky advanced out of the LPGA's first stage of qualifying school Friday. The pair will play in the tournament's second stage, Oct. 8-11, in Venice, Fla.

Nearly 250 women's golfers from around the world participated in the first stage of the tournament with the top 100 advancing. The first stage took place at the Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Yadloczky, a 2013 Auburn graduate, finished in a tie for 13th at the tournament, carding rounds of 69-77-71-71--288, finishing eight strokes out of the lead. Sanz, a 2012 Auburn graduate and the 2012 SEC Tournament medalist, finished five strokes behind her former teammate, tying for 35th with rounds of 71-74-74-74--293.

The second stage will take place at the Plantation Golf & Country Club, Oct. 8-11. The final stage will take place Dec. 4-8 at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
