Women's Golf Announces 2011-12 Schedule

2011-12 Auburn Women's Golf Schedule AUBURN - The defending Southeastern Conference Champion Auburn women's golf team will play in a total of eight tournaments this season, including the second annual Pac 12/SEC Challenge which will be hosted at the University of Tennessee, head coach Kim Evans announced Wednesday. "Our schedule is consistently one of the toughest in the nation and this year is no different," said Evans. "We will be playing some of the best teams in the country and that is the best way to prepare yourself for the post-season. I am excited about this season and ready to get it going." The Tigers will kick off the fall season at The "Mo"morial, Sept. 11-13 at Texas A&M University's Traditions Club. The Tigers are no stranger to the Traditions Club as the team played it last year during the NCAA Fall Preview. Next is a trip to Chapel Hill, N.C., for the Lady Tar Heel Invitational on Oct. 7-9 at the Finley Golf Course. The Tigers will then travel to Knoxville, Tenn., for the Pac 12/SEC Challenge at Holston Hills Country Club. The Tigers wrap up the fall portion of the schedule in Wilmington, N.C., for the Landfall Tradition, which will be played at the Country Club of Landfall, Oct. 28-30. The Country Club of Landfall was the host site of the 2010 NCAA Championship. The spring season will begin at the Central Florida Invitational, Feb. 12-14 in Orlando, Fla., at the Red Tail Golf Club. After a two-week break, the Tigers will head to the Big Easy to compete at the Sugar Bowl Invitational at English Turn Golf Club in New Orleans, La. Auburn will make its second trip to Florida March 16-18 for the Lady Gator Invitational at the Mark Bostick Golf Course at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla. The regular season will wrap up March 30-April 1 in Athens, Ga., for the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. Arkansas is hosting the SEC Championship this season. The Tigers will head to Fayetteville, April 20-22 for the conference tournament at the Blessings Golf Club. The NCAA Regional Championships are set for May 10-12. The East Regional, hosted by Penn State, will take place at the Penn State Golf Course-Blue Corse in State College, Pa., while the Central Regional, hosted by Ohio State, will take place at The Ohio State University Golf Cours-Scarlett Course in Columbus, Ohio. Colorado will host the West Regional at the Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, Colo. The season will conclude with the NCAA Championship, May 15-18, at the Legends Club at Vanderbilt in Franklin, Tenn.
