AUBURN, Ala. - Fresh off the team's best NCAA Championship finish in eight years, the Auburn women's golf team is ready to get back on the course as head coach Kim Evans announced the team's 2013-14 schedule on Tuesday.
"Our schedule allows us to play in tournaments our girls are familiar with as well as new tournaments to challenge us this year," Evans said. "We are really excited to compete against some west coast teams at Stanford this season and we are looking forward to getting back to the NCAA Championship."
Auburn will play in four fall tournaments, beginning with two September tournaments, the Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C. (Sept. 8-10) and the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tenn. (Sept. 20-22). A pair of October tournaments round out Auburn's fall schedule, playing in the Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. (Oct. 11-13) and the Stanford Intercollegiate in Palo Alto, Calif. (Oct. 25-27).
Auburn played in the Cougar Classic and Tar Heel Invitational last season, finishing both tournaments in the top 15, including a sixth-place finish at the Cougar Classic.
Auburn will also play in four spring regular-season tournaments, starting with the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico on Feb. 16-18. The team will then travel to New Orleans, La., to compete in the AllState Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate, Feb. 23-25.
March sees the Tigers playing in the Darius Rucker Invitational in Hilton Head, S.C., March 7-9. Auburn will wrap up the regular season in the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Ga., Apr. 4-6.
The SEC Championship returns to Birmingham at the Greystone Golf and Country Club on Apr. 18-20. NCAA Regionals will be held May 8-10 with the NCAA Championship on May 20-23 in Tulsa, Okla., at the Tulsa Country Club.
