Auburn rising-sophomore golfer's Marisa Milligan and Candace Schepperle and incoming freshman Sara Thead will compete in the U.S. Women's Amateur beginning Aug. 6 at the par 72, 6,595-yard Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind.
The Women's Amateur is conducted with 36 holes of stroke-play qualifying on Aug. 6-7. The low 64 scores then advance to match play on Aug. 8-11, with the champion determined with a 36-hole match-play final on Aug. 12.
This will be the fifth USGA championship hosted by Crooked Stick Golf Club. It has hosted the U.S. Junior Amateur (1982), USGA Senior Amateur (1983), U.S. Mid-Amateur (1989) and U.S. Women's Open (1993).
Television coverage of the championship begins with the first round of match play on The Golf Channel. Two hours of coverage begins each day at 7:30 p.m. ET.
