AUBURN, Ala. – Former Auburn women’s golfers Cydney Clanton and Marta Sanz have qualified for this week’s Ricoh Women’s British Open, which runs Thursday through Sunday at Woburn Golf Club in England.

A total of 16 spots were available in the final round of qualifying, which took place earlier this week at John O’Gaunt Golf Club in England. Sanz tied for second with a 6-under-par 69 on the par-75 layout, and Clanton was one shot back with a 70 (-5), tied for fourth.

The former Tigers will tee off Thursday morning in back-to-back groups. Clanton will be paired with Denmark’s Emily Pedersen and former Princeton golfer Kelly Shon with a start time of 2 p.m. local time (9 a.m. CT) Thursday and 9:15 a.m. (4:15 a.m. CT) Friday. Sanz tees off one group later at 2:11 p.m. local time (9:11 a.m. CT) Thursday and 9:26 a.m. (4:26 a.m. CT) Friday, paired with Sung Hyun Park and Mi Hyang Lee of South Korea.

Clanton is currently 91st on the LPGA Tour official money list, having earned $97,593 in 18 events this season. Her best finish on the year was a tie for 15th at the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic in Prattville. Sanz has played in three events on the Symetra Tour in the U.S., but has played the majority of her season on the Ladies European Tour, where she is currently 55th on the Order of Merit.

Golf Channel will have live coverage of the Women’s British Open beginning at 3:30 a.m. CT all four days, and NBC will carry the final two rounds live, beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
