Patricia Sanz Named To SEC Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM - Auburn junior Patricia Sanz has been named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, the league office announced Monday.
Sanz has collected food items for the East Alabama Food Bank and has worked as part of a clothing drive for a local women's shelter. She assisted head coach Kim Evans with the "Golf for Food" Tournament that helps fund a Christmas dinner for those in need in the Auburn-Opelika area.
She also volunteered for the Cotolengo Foundation back in her hometown of Madrid, Spain, assisting disabled and elderly persons. She participated in a 5K Run for Autism and a 10K race for the Foundation Vicente Ferrer and she has also assisted the Auburn City Schools with its reading program.
Sanz is second on the team this season with a 74.74 stroke average. She has three top-20 finishes on the season, including a tie for 14th at the SEC Championship, helping the Tigers to the team title.
The No. 17/13 Auburn women's golf team will return to action Thursday through Saturday as the Tigers compete at the NCAA East Regional Championship. The tournament will take place at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
