Martinez Wraps Up Play In Kraft Nabisco Championship

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. - Auburn senior Maria Martinez wrapped up her performance in the Kraft Nabisco Championship, hosted by the LPGA, in a tie for 62nd at the par 72, 6,569-yard Mission Hills Country Club here Sunday afternoon. Martinez fired a 16-over (74-73-77-80--304) in the four-day tournament as an amateur.

Martinez advanced past the cut after two rounds along with just three other amateurs. Karrie Webb took medalist honors at the championship winning a one-hole playoff against Lorena Ochoa for the win. Webb shot a 9-under 70-68-76-65--279 for the tournament.

The Auburn senior will help lead the Tigers in the upcoming SEC Championships April 14-16 in Nashville, Tenn. In 2005, Auburn took the SEC title on a Martinez birdie on the third playoff hole during a team playoff with Georgia.
