AUBURN, Ala. - The No. 24 Auburn women's golf team heads to Hilton Head, S.C., to compete in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. Play begins on Friday in the Tigers' third tournament of the season.
The Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, hosted by South Carolina, is a 54-hole three-day tournament will be played at the Long Cove Club. The par 71 course will play at 6,142 yards.
The field includes 10 teams ranked inside the Golf World/WGCA top 25 rankings entering play. Auburn will face off against No. 3 Duke, No. 4 Arizona State, No. 6 Alabama, No. 7 Arkansas, No. 8 Oklahoma, No. 9 Stanford, No. 12 South Carolina, No. 14 Vanderbilt, No. 23 Wake Forest and No. 25 LSU.
Other teams competing in the tournament are Furman, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina and Virginia.
Auburn sends Victoria Trapani, Alex Harell, Diana Fernandez, Clara Baena and Marta Sanz to this weekend's tournament. Sanz picked up her second career individual win of her career in Auburn's last competition at the AllState Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate with a three-round score of 8-under 208. The Tigers are paired with players from Tennessee and Wake Forest during the opening round of play.
Tee times are set for 8:00-8:36 ET for the opening day of the tournament. Live scoring for the tournament will be on Golfstat.com.
