Women's golf heads to AllState Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate

NEW ORLEANS – The Auburn women’s golf team travels to the fourth annual AllState Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate at the English Turn Golf & Country Club as the three-day tournament begins on Sunday and lasts through Tuesday in New Orleans.

The 54-hole tournament on the par-72 course will be playing at 6,140 yards for the event. Play begins on Sunday and Monday, at 9 a.m., while Tuesday’s final round will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.

The 17-team field features four teams ranked inside the top-10 and nine teams ranked inside the top-25. 20 of the nation’s top-50 players will also compete for individual honors at the tournament including players from six SEC teams.

Auburn finished fourth in its last tournament at the 12th Annual Lady Puerto Rico Classic last week. Alex Harrell has posted the top-individual score for the Tigers at both tournaments in 2014. Harrell will begin play on Sunday, teeing off at 11:06 as the Tigers are paired with players from both Mississippi State and Denver.

Clara Baena will be the first Tiger on the course as her first round gets underway at 10:30 a.m., while Jamie Yun tees off at 10:39 a.m. Diana Fernandez hits the course at 10:48 a.m. and Marta Sanz open her round at 10:57 a..
