The No. Auburn women's golf team will open its spring season on Feb. 25-27 at the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz. The three-day tournament will be played at the par-71, 6,238 Arizona National Golf Course.
Auburn is 12-10-3 versus the competition at the Wildcat Invitational this season. Eight of the 10 losses have come from teams that are ranked in the top four of the Golfweek poll. The field of 16 at the tournament includes 11 teams currently ranked in the top 30 of the Feb. 17 Golfweek poll, including the top four teams in the nation.
The Tigers sport a 62-16-4 record from fall competition that featured three top five finishes. Auburn's lineup at the Wildcat Invite features senior Abigale Schepperle, freshman Cydney Clanton, who is ranked No. 11 in the country, junior Mariana Macias, senior Margaret Shirley and sophomore Candace Schepperle. Freshman Sarah Thead will play as an individual.
Auburn will tee off at 8 a.m. MST Monday. Rounds two and three times will also begin at 8 a.m. MST. Live results will be available on www.golfstat.com.
