CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - A pair of Tigers finished in the top 20 at the Dixie Amateur at Heron Bay Golf Club in Coral Springs, Fla., Monday. Freshman Nicole Quinn tied for 10th with 2-over 290 while senior Haley Wilson tied for 19th with a 5-over 293.

Nearly 100 top female amateur golfers from 21 U.S. states and nine other countries were entered in the Dixie Amateur, one of the most prestigious amateur golf championships in the world. The women's championship is played over 72 holes (Friday through Monday) with a 36-hole cut.

Quinn, a native of Windermere, Fla., made the cut with a 1-under 143 after the first two rounds. She carded a 76 in the third round before rebounding for a 1-under 71 in the final round to finish with a 290.

Wilson, a native of Ft. Mitchell, Ala., was at even-par 144 after 36 holes, finishing with rounds of 2-over 74 and 3-over 75 for a 293.

Paula Reto, a native of Coral Springs, Fla. and a junior at Purdue, won the tournament with a 13-under 275 for the second year in a row.

The Auburn women's golf team will open its 2012 spring schedule Feb. 12-14 at the Central Florida Invitational in Orlando, Fla. The Tigers finished the fall season ranked No. 3 in the NGCA coaches poll and GolfWeek ratings.
