PALO ALTO, Calif. - After carding rounds of 294-295--589 (+21), the Auburn women's golf team enters the final round of the Stanford Intercollegiate in 12th place. The Tigers were led by seniors Diana Fernandez and Marta Sanz on Saturday after the duo carded 2-over-par 73s.

Hosted by Stanford University, the Stanford Intercollegiate is a 54-hole tournament being played at the Stanford University Golf Course in Palo Alto, Calif. The par-71 course plays at 6,130 yards for the tournament. The event features 16 teams from around the country, including 10 teams ranked in the top 25 in the nation.

"I thought we were a little more consistent today, but still had some rough patches that set us back," said Auburn associate head coach Andrew Pratt. "We are getting closer to putting together a good team round, we just have to get over the hump."

Fernandez, who carded two birdies on the day, enters the final round of competition tied for 41st with rounds of 74-73--147 (+5). Sanz also carded a pair of birdies for a 2-over 73 on Saturday, finishing the day with rounds of 75-73--148 (+6). She enters the final round of competition tied for 49th.

After carding a team-low 72 in the first round, freshman Clara Baena posted a 75 in the second round. She is tied for 41st with Fernandez at 5-over 147.

Sophomore Jamie Yun is tied for 60th after the second day of competition with rounds of 73-78--151 (+9). With rounds of 78-74--152 (+10), junior Victoria Trapani rounds out the Auburn lineup tied for 67th.

Southern California finished the day at 20-under-par 548 and holds the lead heading into the final round. UCLA is in second at 12-under 556 while Washington is in third at 2-under-par 566. Stanford follows in fourth with an even-par 568 and Pepperdine is in fifth place, ending the second round at 1-over 569.

Individually, Sophia Popov of Southern California holds the lead with rounds of 66-67--133 (-9). Karen Chung of Southern California and Alison Lee of UCLA are tied for second at 6-under-par 136. Mariah Stackhouse of Stanford is fourth at 5-under-par 137 while Doris Chen of Southern California is in fifth at 4-under 138.

Play will conclude at 9:30 a.m. CT, Sunday with tee times off the Nos. 1 and 10 tees. Auburn will lead the day off No. 10, going from 9:30 - 10:06 a.m. CT, playing alongside Kentucky and UC Davis.
