No. 8 Women's Golf In 15th After 36 Holes At Tar Heel Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The No. 8 Auburn women's golf team carded a 20-over 308 for the second round of the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational, bringing the Tigers to a 43-over 619 for the tournament. Auburn is 15th heading into the final round of play on Sunday.
Hosted by the University of North Carolina, the Tar Heel Invitational is a 54-hole tournament played at the UNC Finley Golf Course. The par 72 course is playing at 6,285 yards for the tournament.
"We had another tough day today," said Auburn head coach Kim Evans. "There are no excuses, just a stale team effort. We are going to re-group tonight and look for a better day tomorrow."
Sophomore Victoria Trapani carded a 4-over 76 in the second round and leads the team at 5-over 149, tied for 24th. Junior Marta Sanz is tied for 36th at 7-over 151 after carding a 5-over 77 for the day.
Senior Carlie Yadloczky led the Tigers in the second round, carding a 3-over 75 on the day to be tied for 74th at 13-over 157 for the tournament. Junior Diana Fernandez is tied for 87th at 18-over 162 after carding an 8-over 80 on Saturday, and freshman Alex Harrell is 94th at 24-over 168 for the tournament.
Host North Carolina is in first place for the tournament at 5-over 581,with a 10-stroke lead over Baylor who is in second at 15-over 591. Florida is in third at 17-over 593, and a tie is held at fourth between North Carolina State and Virginia at 19-over 595s.
Individually, Baylor's Hayley Davis is in fist at 4-under 140, and Florida's Isabelle Lendl is in second at 3-under 141. Louisville's Tara Lyons is in third with a 2-under 142, and North Carolina's Maia Schechter is in fourth at 1-under 143. Virginia's Brittany Altomare and Mississippi's Haley Sanders are tied for fifth at even par 144s.
