CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Auburn women's golf team carded an 11-over 299 Saturday in the second round of the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational, finishing the day in a tie for 11th heading into Sunday's final round. Junior Victoria Trapani had the low round of the day for the Tigers, carding an even-par 72.

Hosted by North Carolina, the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational is a 54-hole tournament being played at the UNC Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C. The par 72 course is playing at 6,285 yards for the tournament. The event features 18 teams from around the country, including 12 teams ranked in the top 25 in the nation.

"It was a tough day for us today, just a lot of little mistakes that add up over the course of a round," said associate head coach Andrew Pratt. "Vic and Diana gave us some good rounds today, but we have to get better. We will come back out tomorrow and see what we can do."

Senior Diana Fernandez continues to lead the Tigers, entering the final round in a tie for 13th. After her 1-under 71 in the first round, she came back with a 1-over 73 Saturday to sit at even-par 144.

Trapani moved up in the standings to a tie for 32nd. She finished the second day with rounds of 75-72--147 (+3), carding two birdies during Saturday's round.

Senior Marta Sanz enters the final round of the tournament tied for 47th, with rounds of 73-76--149. Sophomore Jamie Yun carded a 6-over 78 on Saturday, ending the day in a tie for 52nd at 6-over 150.

Freshman Clara Baena rounded out the Auburn lineup with a 6-over 78. She is in 92nd with a 17-over 161 for the tournament.

Duke moved into first place at 8-under 568. Alabama moved up to second place at 4-over 580, followed by Oklahoma in third with a 6-over 582. Vanderbilt and Clemson ended the day at 8-over-par 584, finishing in a tie for fourth.

Individually, Ashlan Ramsey of Clemson is in first at 7-under 137. Laetitia Beck of Duke and Caroline Nistrup of LSU tied for second place, ending the day at 4-under-par 140. Justine Dreher of LSU and Celine Boutier of Duke finished the second round at 3-under-141, tying for fourth.

Play at the Tar Heel Invitational will conclude at 8:15 a.m. CT, Sunday with a shotgun start for the final round. Auburn will start on Nos. 12-15, playing alongside Michigan State and LSU. Fans can follow the action with live scoring at
