BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Sophomore Victoria Trapani carded a 4-over 76 Sunday in the final round of the Southeastern Conference Championship, finishing the tournament in a tie for sixth at 11-over 227. As a team, Auburn finished in 10th place with a 933.

The SEC Championship was played at the Greystone Golf and Country Club's Legends Course in Hoover, Ala. The par 72 course played at 6,401 yards for the tournament.

"I am really proud of the team for the way they fought through and finished this tournament," said Auburn head coach Kim Evans. "We had a tough first round that really set us back. Outside of that first round, we were right there with the top of the field, but we put ourselves in too deep of a hole that first day."

Trapani led the Tigers throughout the tournament and finished tied for sixth with an 11-over 227. By finishing in the top 10 individually, it marks the sixth year in a for a Tiger to finish in the top 10 of the championship.

"I'm exceptionally proud of Victoria and the way she played all week long," said Evans. "This was a tough golf course and she did a great job leading us."

Senior Carlie Yadloczky finished the tournament with a 19-over 235, tied for 37th, and junior Diana Fernandez finish tied for 43rd at 20-over 236.

Junior Marta Sanz finished tied for 52nd at 23-over 239 while freshman Jamie Yun carded a 31-over 247 at the tournament to finish 66th.

Alabama won the SEC title with a 35-over 899, followed by Georgia in second with a 49-over 913. South Carolina carded a 54-over 918 to place third while Vanderbilt finished fourth with a 55-over 919. Kentucky and Mississippi State tied for fifth with 58-over 922s.

Individually, Alabama's Stephanie Meadow took the individual title with an even-par 216, and Kentucky's Sarah Harris carded a 9-over 225 to place second. A three-way tie for third was shared among South Carolina's Justine Dreher, Mississippi State's Ally McDonald and Arkansas's Emily Tubert with 10-over 226s.

Auburn is set to host the NCAA East Regional Championship beginning May 9 at the Auburn University Club.
