GREENSBORO, N.C. - Junior Marta Sanz carded a 3-under 69 in the second round of the Bryan National Collegiate, helping the No. 28-ranked Tigers move in to a tie for fourthplace after 36 holes. Sanz and fellow junior Diana Fernandez are both in the top 10, individually.

Hosted by Wake Forest and North Carolina-Greensboro, the Bryan National Collegiate is a 54-hole tournament played at the Bryan Park Golf and Enrichment Center Champions Course in Greensboro, N.C. The par 72 course is playing at 6,386 yards for the tournament.

Sanz is tied for fifth with an even par 144 after carding 3-under 69 in the second round with two birdies and an eagle. Fernandez is one stroke away after carding a 2-over 74 to be at 1-over 145 for the tournament and tied for ninth.

"Marta stepped up today and made a statement," said head coach Kim Evans. "We are seeing improvement as a team and are looking forward to continuing tomorrow."

Freshman Jamie Yun carded a 5-over 77 and is tied for 43rd with a 7-over 151 in the tournament, and senior Carlie Yadloczky is tied for 61st at 11-over 155 following a second-round 5-over 77. Sophomore Victoria Trapani carded a 7-over 79 in the second round to be tied for 85th with an 18-over 162.

Virginia is in first place for the tournament at 2-under 574 and nine strokes ahead of second place Arkansas, who has carded a 7-over 583 for the tournament. Vanderbilt is in third with a 10-over 586, while Georgia and Auburn are tied for fourth with 19-over 595s.

Individually, Virginia's Brittany Altomare is in the lead with a 4-under 140, and Georgia's Emilie Burger is in second at 2-under 142. Virginia's Elizabeth Brightwell and Arkansas's Gabriela Lopez share third place with 1-under 143s, and a four-way tie for fifth is shared among Auburn's Sanz, Arkansas's Emily Tubert South Carolina's Sarah Schmelzel and Vanderbilt's Rene Sobolewski with even par 144s.
